Vicki delivers Outdoor Cinema at Powerhouse

Vicki delivers Powerhouse revitalisation with an outdoor cinema, night markets, art installations and performance spaces are coming to Brisbane Powerhouse as part of the Schrinner Council’s $1 million investment in the popular precinct.

Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner said Brisbane Powerhouse is one of our city’s greatest cultural assets, and this investment would deliver more to see and do for residents and visitors.

“We want to ensure this precinct continues to evolve and this new line up of events will support our arts economy and excite art and entertainment seekers,” Cr Schrinner said.

“The Powerhouse is a must-visit destination for tourists as well as a treasure for locals and this new outdoor offering will have something for all ages and interests.

“Brisbane’s fantastic climate means we can enjoy things like outdoor cinemas, nightmarkets and open-air venues all year round.

“Our $1 million investment, along with Federal Morrison Government support, will provide the start-up funds to create ongoing cultural events at the Brisbane Powerhouse, with the exciting new offerings to start rolling out from spring.”

Pleasuredome

It’s a long way from home, welcome to the Pleasuredome.

  • Frankie Goes to Hollywood

Intimate Nordic tents that glow in the dark cluster around a magnificent ivory-sailcloth performance venue known as the Pleasuredome in the heart of Brisbane Powerhouse’s Performance Lawn.

Seating up to 450 people in long table feasting, cabaret tables or theatre-mode, this organic-shaped fluted theatre and event space responds to its relaxed sub-tropical location under Moreton Bay Figs beside the Brisbane River.

A destination for tourists and locals alike, the Pleasuredome features full-service bars and alfresco lounging zones to ensure a quality experience.

Pleasuredome will remain in place 10 months of the year for weddings and special private and corporate events.

During Brisbane Powerhouse’s major festivals, the Pleasuredome transforms into full theatre mode to stage music, comedy, circus, theatre, dance and cabaret.

This project has been supported by Brisbane City Council and Restart Investment to Sustain and Expand (Rise) Fund – an Australian Government initiative.

Enquires for the Pleasuredome can be made here.
