Local Councillor Leads 25% Festival Funding Boost Across Brisbane
Brisbane’s thriving arts and music scene is set to reach new heights, with a 25% increase for all 128 Suburban and Multicultural Festivals as part of Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner’s 2025-26 Budget — championed by the Councillor responsible for arts and community festivals, Cr Vicki Howard
Cr Howard said the significant boost was about ensuring every community, from the inner city to the outer suburbs, gets more chances to celebrate, connect and support local talent.
“This isn’t just a win for the arts — it’s a win for every neighbourhood in Brisbane,” Cr Howard said.
“Festivals bring people together, activate local spaces, support small businesses and showcase the amazing creative talent we have right here in Brisbane. I’m proud to have helped deliver this major increase in support for the industry and thank Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner for this funding”
The funding boost ensures continued support for community-led and culturally diverse festivals across the city.
