From Bubble Tea to the Singapore Symphony, the best of Asian culture and cuisine will be back on full display this year as BrisAsia Festival returns for the Year of the Snake.
Our popular multicultural event is now in its 13th year, and more than 200 people have been involved in bringing this week-long celebration to life in 2025.
There will be 25 unmissable events and activities across 12 suburbs between Friday 31 January and Sunday 9 February, including Lunar New Year celebrations on Saturday 1 February.
To mark the start of the ten-day BrisAsia festival the Story Bridge, Victoria Bridge and the new Kangaroo Point Bridge will be lit pink, blue and red.
This year’s line-up brings several new attractions including the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, new workshops for musicians, DJs and producers at Milton, and a special Luna New Year light up in the Mt Coot-tha Botanical Gardens.
Some of the most popular BrisAsia events will return this year including Lush on Fish Lane – Asian Street Festival, Sunnybank Lunar New Year Rooftop Party, and Southside by Night.
Through this great range of free and affordable events, we are continuing our commitment to give people more to see and do in the suburbs and make Brisbane an exciting place to live.
More than 25,000 people enjoyed last year’s celebrations, and we are really proud that in Brisbane one third of us come from overseas, so events like BrisAsia are so important to highlight and celebrate our rich diversity.
“The 2025 program is a fantastic celebration of culture, community, arts and cuisine that honours and engages our Asian cultural heritage through learning and fun activities,” said Dr Anthony Garcia, Executive Producer of BrisAsia Festival
“It’s such a privilege to curate one of the most innovative and diverse festivals in Australia with an exciting program of events combining elements of traditional and contemporary Asian culture.
“The festival is brought to life by more than 200 artists, producers and creatives whose work allows us to celebrate life and art in a way that brings together people from all walks of life, offering artists opportunities to experiment, collaborate and evolve their practice whilst giving audiences the chance to experience world-class entertainment.
“As one of the highlights of Brisbane’s cultural calendar, I encourage everyone to experience what the festival has to offer. Please plan your visit in advance as some events require bookings.”
