CR VICKI HOWARD

COUNCILLOR FOR CENTRAL WARD

About Vicki

As a long standing resident of New Farm, Vicki Howard has been proud to represent Brisbane’s vibrant inner northern suburbs in Brisbane City Council since 2012. Vicki’s passion for Brisbane’s inner city drives her to ensure Central Ward receives strong and effective representation that delivers the roads and transport we need, the parks and greenspace we want and the reliable services and lifestyle opportunities we deserve.

She’s one of us

A local, a mother, a grandmother, a friend and neighbour, a community volunteer – Cr Vicki Howard is someone who is not afraid to roll up her sleeves to get things done for the place she proudly calls home.

Dedicated to the principles of common-sense, genuine sustainability, access and inclusion Vicki’s passion for Brisbane’s inner northern villages ensure Central Ward receives strong and effective representation that delivers real results.

Vicki is well known for her no nonsense approach and ability to bring people together to get better outcomes. It is these characteristics that saw Vicki chosen by her colleagues to take on the additional responsibilities of Deputy Chair of City Planning and Deputy Chair of Council. In 2018, then Lord Mayor Graham Quirk appointed Vicki to Civic Cabinet as Chair for Field Services. In those role Vicki is now responsible for the provision of a wide range of Council services. These include ensuring Brisbane is a leading city in waste management and resource recovery, graffiti management and asset maintenance, including road resurfacing.

Living her mantra that Central Ward is where Brisbane ‘Works, Rest and Plays’, Vicki uses every opportunity to support and enjoy all the wonderful things that make Brisbane’s inner city great.

An active member of many local community groups, Vicki loves working and spending time with those who share her enthusiasm and pride for our area.

Listening, Working and Getting Results for Central Ward

Central Ward may have only voice in Council but Vicki strongly believes it has 27,000 – including yours – and that each and every one deserves to be heard. If you have something on your mind or need to get something of your chest or if you have an idea – big or small – Vicki values your thoughts.

As well as her office in the heart of New Farm , Vicki hosts regular mobile offices throughout the ward where everyone is welcome to stop by – without an appointment – and have a chat.
